Do It Yourself Tax Filing
Many of us think of tax filing as a dirty word but no matter what you think, you must pay them. The best way to handle taxes is to pay them on time and pay exactly what you owe. Do not try to play any funny tricks, just pay them. It is possible for you to do your own tax filing. The laws and rules are lengthy and difficult to read, but it is not impossible, especially if you do not generate out of the ordinary income or have complicated investment income. The access to all of the forms, instructions and publications that you now have via the Internet makes doing your own taxes a little easier. Even though I have not done it yet myself, you can even do your tax filing over the Internet. Take your time when you do your own taxes and read the instructions that are provided for each line. If doing your own taxes sounds like something close to torture or you have complicated investments or business issues, letting a professional prepare them is a good idea. Whatever you do, never fail to send in a return even if you do not have the money to pay what you owe. There is an additional penalty for failure to file as well as the non-payment penalties. Some people make the mistake of figuring that they might as well not file at all if they cannot pay. Do not do this. Always, at least, file your 1040 forms.
