Frugal Vehicles, Clothing and Medical Ideas

Frugal Living Ideas - Vehicles

If you have a vehicle payment, sell the vehicle.

Vehicle payments are a whole subject that deserves a page of their own.

Make sure that you are not paying too much for your vehicle insurance.

Just like you have done with your homeowner’s insurance, check with other companies and make sure that your deductibles are not too low.

Frugal Living Ideas - Clothing

Never pay full price for clothing.

Buy clothes at less expensive stores, why pay for a name.

Buy clothes out of season or at the end of the season when possible.

Shop at factory outlet stores but do not assume that an item is cheaper just because it is at a factory outlet. Make sure that it is a good deal.

Try to stay away from dry clean only. Why pay someone else to wash your clothes if you don’t have to.

Use hand me down clothes.

Purchase every-day (or, if you're lucky, career wear) from resale shops.

Frugal Living Ideas - Medical

Preventative Maintenance – brush and floss. I shouldn’t have to tell you about the benefits of regularly brushing and flossing your teeth.

Take proper care of your body – diet, exercise and the proper amount of rest.

Exercise does not have to be expensive. Walking is cheap and find some used equipment.

There is nothing wrong with generic drugs.

Social connections are also valuable such as church, weight-loss groups, card clubs, book clubs, etc.
