Sometimes it only takes hesitation on your part. Watch for regular annual department store sales. For instance, every January, large retail stores have inventory clearances. Keep a small pocket calendar with a record of when such sales occur, and when you are thinking of making such a purchase, check your calendar for the best time of year to buy. To get good buys you have to look for them. They do not always just fall into your lap. Take a look at public auctions, garage sales, flea markets, individuals, classified ads, coupons, outlet stores and sales. Have patience; most purchases are not that urgent. I will admit that I am not good at all of these but if you try at least a few of them you can save a considerable amount of money.
